Three Kingston youths arrested in stolen vehicle

Three youths from Kingston are facing charges after OPP locate a stolen vehicle travelling westbound on Highway 401.
Just before 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday, Mar. 2, 2021, officers from the Leeds County detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received information regarding a stolen vehicle from Kingston. With assistance from OnStar the vehicle was stopped on Highway 401 westbound, a few kilometres west of the Reynolds Road exit, according to a release from OPP, dated Friday, Mar. 5, 2021. As part of the investigation, four occupants were arrested.
The 14 year old driver from Kingston was arrested and charged with:
- Theft over $5000 of a motor vehicle
- Possession of property obtained by crime over $5000
A 14 year old from Kingston was arrested and charged with:
- YPC person under 19 years – Possess Cannabis
A 17 year old also from Kingston was arrested and charged with:
- Theft over $5000 of a motor vehicle
- Theft under $5000
- Possession of a schedule 1 substance
OPP say the remaining passenger was arrested on an outstanding warrant and transported to Kingston Police.
The accused, who cannot be identified under the terms of the Youth Criminal Justice Act were released and are scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Brockville at a later date to answer to the charges.
