Three impaired drivers charged in Frontenac County over three days

Members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have been busy since late last week laying impaired driving charges on three locals in as many days, beginning on the evening of Thursday, Mar. 24, 2022.

At approximately 8:30 p.m., on March 24, members of the South Frontenac OPP detachment responded to a traffic complaint on Bedford Road in South Frontenac Township. 

According to a release from the OPP, police located the vehicle and spoke with the driver. During the traffic stop, a Standard Field Sobriety Test (SFST) was conducted. Police said that the driver was subsequently arrested and taken to Frontenac Detachment for further testing by a Drug Recognition Expert (DRE) officer. 

As a result of this investigation Sarena Graham, age 43 of Kingston, has been charged with operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs.

Graham had their driver’s licence suspended for 90 days and the vehicle was towed and impounded for seven days. They were released to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Kingston in April 2022.

Later that same night, at approximately 10:15 p.m., South Frontenac OPP arrived upon a single motor vehicle collision on Road 38, South Frontenac Township.

According to the OPP, the driver had sustained no injuries and was arrested and taken to Frontenac Detachment for testing.  

As a result of the investigation Tyler Greene, age 21, of South Frontenac Township has been charged with the following offences:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Novice driver – B.A.C. above zero
  • Young driver – B.A.C. above zero

Greene had their driver’s licence suspended for 90 days and their vehicle towed and impounded for seven days. They were released to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Kingston in April 2022.

Two days later, on the evening of Friday, Mar. 26, 2022, police from the Sharbot Lake Detachment of the OP) responded to a single motor vehicle collision on Bellrock Road, South Frontenac Township at approximately 8:45 p.m.

According to the OPP, the crash scene indicated that the motor vehicle had left the road and came to rest upside down in a ditch. Police said that the driver sustained minor injuries and a Standard Field Sobriety Test (SFST) was conducted. The driver was subsequently arrested and taken to Frontenac Detachment for further testing.  

As a result of the investigation Shawn Rumbolt, age 47, of Kingston has been charged with the following offences:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

Rumbolt had their driver’s licence suspended for 90 days and their vehicle towed and impounded for seven days. They were released to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Kingston in May 2022.

Each of the drivers will be responsible for all related fees and fines.
