Third COVID-19 outbreak declared at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic School

A COVID-19 outbreak has been declared at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic School, an elementary school in Kingston’s north end.

The outbreak was declared on Sunday, Dec. 19, 2021, and involves four cases, according to data from both KFL&A Public Health. It is unclear when the cases were detected, as the Algonquin Lakeshore Catholic District School Board (ALCDSB) has taken down their chart of cases for the holidays.

This is the third outbreak to take place at St. Francis of Assisi since the beginning November. The first outbreak was declared on Wednesday, Nov. 10, 2021, and the second on Tuesday, Nov. 30, 2021.

There are currently 50 active outbreaks in KFL&A and 272 active COVID-19 cases associated with those outbreaks.
