Sustainable Kingston’s in-person awards event will take place in October

This year, Sustainable Kingston will recognize those in the community who have enhanced the livability and resiliency of Kingston with the 2022 Sustainable Kingston Awards.

Everyone is welcome to attend the outdoor, in-person event in Springer Market Square on Wednesday, Oct. 12, 2022, from 3 to 5 p.m. According to a release from Sustainable Kingston, the event, which will feature a brief award summary, live music, and hot apple cider, is free to the public.

Sustainable Kingston is encouraging Kingston residents to visit www.sustainablekingston.com/nominations to nominate a deserving individual or organization for the following awards:

  • Youth Sustainability Champion: An individual 25 years of age or younger (as of December 31, 2021) who has made an impact in sustainability in 2021 through to the present.

  • Sustainability Champion: An individual over the age of 25 who has made an impact in sustainability in 2021 through to the present.

  • Innovation Award: a business or organization that has implemented innovative initiatives to reduce their own carbon footprint or contribute to a culture of sustainability in their community.

  • Other awards include the Greatest Overall GHG Reduction Award and the Greatest Percentage Reduction of GHG Award. Organizations belonging to the sustainably.eco program are eligible for these awards.
