Suspect involved in violent incident in October identified and arrested

Detectives involved in an ongoing investigation since Thursday, Oct. 18, 2018 have now arrested and charged the man involved in what police called a “violent incident.”

The incident took place at a hotel in Kingston’s north end, and involved the accused male and a female victim. The accused man became angry with the victim and struck her in the mouth before attacking her, demanding money and choking her. During the incident, the victim tried to scream, and the accused man threatened her, before finally leaving and taking her money and phone. The accused man tossed the victim’s phone out the window of his vehicle as he drove away.

On Sunday, Nov. 25, detectives were able to identify the accused man as a 48-year old from Belleville. On Thursday, Nov. 29, Kingston Police located and arrested the man at an address in Belleville. The accused man was arrested and charged with assault, robbery, choking, harassment by threatening conduct, uttering threats to cause death, uttering threats to cause bodily harm, and theft.
