Suspect in custody following weapons offence at TD bank downtown

Kingston Police responded to a weapons offence call at the TD Canada Trust bank located at the corner of Princess and Wellington Streets at approximately 12:15 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 12, 2018.

Eyewitnesses reported that the suspect was taken down by Kingston Police officers within a block of the bank after the suspect left the bank, which is located at 94 Princess Street. Although Kingston Police have confirmed that the suspect is in custody, Const. Cameron Mack could not confirm what kind of weapon the suspect was carrying. Mack did confirm, however, that there is no threat to public safety due to this incident.

Mack said there is a robbery element to the incident.
