Suspect at large following violent assault at Sun Convenience

Kingston Police are investigating and the suspect is still at large after a theft and assault took place at Sun Convenience and Grocery on Montreal Street yesterday.
The incident took place at approximately 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Jul. 30, 2019, when a female suspect entered the store and attempted to steal merchandise. According to a source close to the owner of the store, the owner noticed the attempted theft on video and stopped the woman before she’d left the store. The woman hit the owner in the face with the merchandise — two cans of Red Bull, according to the source — leaving the owner with a laceration on her face that required stitches. The owner was again attacked by the woman, resulting in bruising and scratches. According to the source, the victim is still shaken up from the violent altercation.
Kingston Police were called and have confirmed that the female suspect involved in the incident is still at large. Sun Convenience and Grocery is located at 900 Montreal Street, beside Community Spirit Bingo Hall.
