Students recovering from serious collision

Two local highschool students are on the road to recovery from a serious vehicle collision on Friday last week.

The grade 12 Holy Cross Secondary School students were travelling in a Toyota Corolla when they were involved in a T-bone collision with a Jeep at the intersection of Bayridge Dr and Princess St at around 11:20 a.m.

The impact of the collision was such that the occupants had to be mechanically extricated from the vehicle by Kingston Fire & Rescue crews. Frontenac Paramedics attended the scene along with EMS from Lennox & Addington and transported the occupants to hospital. Frontenac Paramedics said one of the patients had sustained possibly life-threatening injuries. He is now considered to be in stable condition.

Kingston Police closed the roadway and conducted a reconstruction of the crash scene throughout most of the day. The investigation continues and what charges may be laid, if any, has yet to be determined.
