St. Lawrence College (SLC) has confirmed that a student living at its Kingston residence has tested positive for COVID-19. The college posted an update to their COVID-19 information page on Friday, Dec. 4, 2020.

The student is reportedly self-isolating. “Following established protocols, SLC continues to work closely with Kingston Frontenac Lennox & Addington (KFL&A) Public Health, who are investigating and conducting contact tracing,” said a statement from the college.

The college is also reminding community members that unless they are contacted by KFL&A Public Health, they do not need to consider themselves exposed.

“Please also note that KFL&A Public Health has determined there is minimal risk of exposure to others living in residence,” SLC said.

Anyone with questions or concerns can contact the SLC COVID-19 response team at [email protected]. Updates and information about reporting any suspected illness can be found here, as well as information related to COVID-19 protocols, resources, and testing centres.

There are currently 31 active cases of COVID-19 in the KFL&A Public Health region.
