Tonight, Friday, Jun. 23, 2023, marks the first in a series of summer evening events to be held at Lion’s Civic Gardens off Gardiners Road.

The City of Kingston and Cataraqui Centre are “throwing a party” called ‘Friday in the Gardens,’ according to a release from the City.

“Get ready for an unforgettable evening under the stars as we kick off our summer programming at the Lion’s Civic Gardens. Join us today, from 5 to 9 p.m. to groove to the beats of DJ Tiger, indulge in mouthwatering hot dogs and ice creams from on-site food vendors, and cap off the evening with an epic screening of Top Gun: Maverick at 9 p.m. on [an] inflatable big screen and free popcorn,” the City said.

These family-friendly Friday parties will continue throughout the summer, taking place on July 7, 21, and August 4 and 18. Everyone is invited, admission is free, and don’t forget your chairs or blankets for a comfortable evening.

Lion’s Civic Gardens is located immediately south of the Cataraqui Centre, adjacent to the Isabel Turner Branch of the Kingston Frontenac Public Library.
