South Frontenac resident facing charges after damaging property

Over the weekend, the Frontenac detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) charged a South Frontenac resident after an investigation into damaged property.
The investigation began on Saturday, Dec. 17, 2022, and the accused is now facing two charges:
- Mischief – renders property dangerous, useless, inoperative or ineffective, and
- Trespassing at night
The OPP did not name the accused person, nor would they say where in South Frontenac the incident occurred. Police did say what the mischief involved, however.
“The accused damaged an air compressor bubbler system,” Frontenac OPP said in response to Kingstonist’s inquiries. “The damage had occurred prior to police beginning the investigation.”
An air compressor bubbler system is used to keep items, such as ponds or water features, from freezing during colder temperatures. The charges against the accused person indicate they destroyed this item during the incident.
According to police, the accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Kingston in February 2023.
