South Frontenac reopens some outdoor facilities

The township of South Frontenac has reopened its Waste Disposal sites and some outdoor recreational facilities.
The change took effect Wednesday, April 21, 2021 as a response to the province’s amended guidelines announced on April 17th. It means that the Portland waste disposal site will be open Wednesdays and Saturdays from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., while the Loughborough waste disposal site will be open from the same time on Saturdays and Mondays. Also, its household hazardous waste site is open every Thursday from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. throughout the summer.
As for outdoor recreational areas, playgrounds, as well as the Centennial off-leash dog park, are now reopen.
“Play structures and the Township’s dog park can be used by residents and their children provided a physical distance of at least two metres from others outside their household is maintained,” a news release stated.
Boat launches have also reopened, but aside from that, all outdoor recreational facilities will remain closed until further notice.
