South Frontenac OPP investigating report of needle in Halloween candy

A widely circulated social post alleged that a sharp object had been found inside a candy bar on Halloween night. Submitted.

Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) say they are investigating the report of a needle that was allegedly found inside of a candy bar given out on Halloween.

“The incident was reported to police November 1, 2021 at 9:36 a.m. The object was located prior to consumption and no injuries were sustained,” OPP said in a release.

According to OPP, the candy was believed to have been collected in the village of Sydenham over Halloween night on October 31, 2021.

“Police remind the public to check candy before consumption,” OPP said in the release.
