Smitty’s Family Restaurant & Lounge has made some changes to their Annual Pancake Days, at their location at 2376 Princess Street, next to Bennett’s Furniture.

Every year on Shrove Tuesday, otherwise known as Pancake Day, Smitty’s raises money to help with the upcoming Easter Seals Fundraising efforts, according to a release from Easter Seals, dated Tuesday, Feb. 16, 2021. This year is the 23rd year Smitty’s has put on this fundraiser.

Because of the limitations of COVID-19, whether it is take-out only or dine-in with limited seating, Smitty’s say they have made some changes this year, in order to continue to help Easter Seals kids with physical disabilities and their families.

“A Short Stack of our Classic Buttermilk Pancakes (for $9.99) will be available at Smitty’s all day (9 a.m. to 7 p.m.) from Tuesday, Feb. 16 until Sunday, Feb. 28,” Smitty’s said in the release. “For every order purchased, Smitty’s will donate all $9.99 to the Easter Seals Kids.”

“We realize in these difficult times when we are all making so many personal sacrifices, it is harder than ever to reach out and help others,” Randy Loucks, owner of Smitty’s, shared. “However the needs for kids with physical disabilities and their families has never been greater. Therefore, Basilia and I are also donating $1,000 personally, not as owners of Smitty’s but simply as Kingstonians.”

The owners and staff at Smitty’s invite the residents of Kingston to help them help others. “It’s what we do!” they said.

Over the past 22 years Smitty’s has raised $81,181.58 for the Easter Seals Kids, according to the release. For more information contact Basilia or Randy Loucks at (613) 549-5212.
