Single vehicle collision in Amherstview leaves teen girl deceased

Police are still investigating a single motor vehicle collision on Coronation Boulevard that took the life of a female teenage passenger.
At approximately 10:15 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 30, 2018, Kingston Police, Ontario Provincial Police, Frontenac Paramedics, and Kingston Fire and Rescue responded to the collision on Coronation Boulevard south of Taylor Kidd Boulevard. There, the single vehicle was situated where it had impacted a limestone rock cut. The vehicle had extensive front-end damage, according to Kingston Police.
Both occupants, a 16-year-old male driver from Kingston, and a 16-year-old female passenger from Amherstivew, were inside the vehicle when first responders arrived. The male was conscious and able to talk, but the female was unresponsive and had to be extracted from the vehicle. Both parties were rushed to hospital by ambulance, and the female later succumbed to her injuries.
The Kingston Police Level 4 Reconstructionist Traffic Unit attended the scene to conduct the investigation.
