Spring is here, and that means it is nearly time to celebrate those who have supported us through the years: our mothers. Mothers are special – they love us unconditionally, and give to us in so many ways. Each Mom is unique in their own way, so tailoring the tokens of your appreciation is a great way to express your unique love for the mother in your life — on Mother’s Day (Sunday, May 12, 2024), or any day!

What better way to show Mom you care than with a gift from a local business? From massages to meals, these businesses have fun and unique ways to celebrate Mom:

Treat Mom to brunch

This Mother’s Day, treat Mom to brunch at Bar Mayla! Served from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Bar Mayla’s new a la carte brunch menu includes modern favourites and features an amazing Turkish Breakfast — tapas-style small plates and a basket of Turkish-style baked goods — which is sure to wow all mom-figures in your life!

The Bar Mayla Brunch isn’t just for Mother’s Day! Starting May 5, stop by 343 King Street East every Saturday and Sunday, to enjoy a luxurious breakfast.

Reservations are recommended and open now. Visit https://www.maylaconcept.ca/bar-mayla to book a meal.

Find the perfect gift

On Sunday, May 5, 2024, stop by the Lions Hall in Napanee and find all those little gifts and trinkets that Mom will love under one roof.

Hosted by Leopold’s Event Planning, the Mother’s Day Market will see local vendors showing off their products and gift ideas, especially for Mom. From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., shoppers will find classic gifts from artisan-made jewellery, handmade confectionery sweet treats, or luxury bath products, to unique items such as exotic plants, handmade candles and home fragrances, or one-of-a-kind handbags and accessories. This event will make gift buying easy and fun — and Mom will be spoiled for sure!

“Come out and find a gift for the mom figure in your life, from one of our 34 vendors and artisans,” said Jasmine Leopold, event organizer.

More details and a list of vendors are available on the market’s Facebook event page.
