UHKF encourages businesses to “Share Your Smile” with button campaign

The University Hospitals Kingston Foundation (UHKF) has launched a fundraising campaign to help Kingston and area communities feel connected in a new way.
The Share Your Smile button campaign has the UHKF making buttons with your smiling face on them. They are hoping this campaign will help businesses and services connect with colleagues and customers.
“We are all used to that personal connection we have with the people we serve and interact with, our smiles are a big part of that,” says Lori Faggiani, Director of Annual Programs at UHKF. “UHKF staff members are happy that donors and the community will always see a smiling face when they interact with them, even if they are wearing masks.”
UHKF is welcoming all businesses to participate, according to a release dated Wednesday, Sept 30, 2020. From hospitals to restaurants to banks to schools, UHKF is hoping many employees can use the buttons to better connect with customers and patients. Buttons are $5 each with proceeds supporting Kingston Health Sciences Centre (KHSC) and Providence Care.
“I wanted a button so people can still see a friendly face even when they are going through hard times,” says Stephanie Haley, Patient Care Assistant at KHSC. “We are all in this together.”
“This campaign is such a clever way to give a face and personal connection back to the people in our industry and community,” says Casey Fisher, Owner of The Mansion Kingston. “The pandemic has masked these traits since our reopening in June, and we are excited to share our smiles again.”
“We are excited to share our smiles with our patients again,” says Shannon Thompson, Owner of Active Orthopedic Solutions. “This fundraiser is an easy way to give back to our local healthcare organizations. We have seen the impact of donations at Active Orthopedic Solutions, through UHKF’s Comfort and Care Fund, so we understand the importance of giving back.”
