Serious collision leads to overnight closure of Highway 33

A head-on collision on Highway 33 yesterday evening resulted in multiple injuries and required extrication by emergency crews. The highway was closed overnight.

At approximately 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 24, 2020 officers of the Lennox and Addington (L&A) County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and other emergency crews responded to a report of a two vehicle, head-on collision on Highway 33, East of Jim Snow Drive in Bath, Ontario.

According to OPP, six people were injured and four people had to be extricated by emergency crews.  All injured parties were taken to hospital with undetermined injuries.  

The roadway was closed for several hours for the OPP Technical Collision Investigation (TCI) team and OPP Collision Reconstructionist to investigate, according to a report from OPP dated Wednesday, Nov. 25, 2020. The investigation remains ongoing by L&A County OPP however the road is now open.
