Second person arrested in connection with October 2022 Marmora shooting

After one person was arrested and charged in October 2022 in connection with multiple shots fired at a residence in Marmora and Lake Township, another person has now met the same fate.
The Central Hastings Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) originally reported that one person – Damian Shelley-Gaston, 25, of Deseronto – had been arrested on Sunday, Oct. 2, 2022, after shots were fired at a residence on Lajoie Road. At the time, police were looking for any information from the public regarding the incident. According to the OPP, no one was injured as a result.
Now, over five months later, the OPP has announced a second person – also a Deseronto resident – has been arrested and charged in connection with the shooting incident.
According to the Central Hastings OPP, Christine Landry, 39, of Deseronto, has been arrested and charged with:
- Careless use of a firearm
- Discharging a firearm with intent
- Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
- Possession of a loaded or restricted firearm
Landry was held in custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville on Wednesday, Mar. 15, 2023, the OPP said in a press release on Tuesday, Mar. 14, 2023.
Kingstonist has inquired with the OPP as to when Landry was arrested, and what led to her arrest and charges so many months after the incident. This article will be updated if/when more information becomes available.
