The Township of South Frontenac is asking for public feedback on the Verona Housing Master Plan at an open house later this month.

“Are you or someone you know concerned about your ability to live and age in a growing rural municipality where the price of housing seems to keep going up? Will you be seeking a lifestyle that balances affordability with access to important services and amenities while remaining close to friends and family in the community you currently call home?” the Township asked in a media release dated Thursday, Nov. 18, 2021.

Area residents are invited to be part of the conversation about housing in the village at an open house on Tuesday, Nov. 30, 2021.

According to the release, the Verona Housing Master Plan will outline future housing which will be developed on lands owned by the Township (see map below – identified as Township green field). The Township said that the plan will focus on the relationship between the Township-owned lands, the re-built McMullen Manor, and the rest of Verona. It will also look at design and how these sites fit into the existing village.

“Join the Verona Housing Master Plan discussion and help develop a plan for much-needed seniors and other affordable housing in our community,” the Township said.
