Removal of tanker truck from Buck Lake will close Perth Road on Saturday

On Saturday, Oct. 29, 2022, the South Frontenac Township Roads department will close the area of Perth Road near Hilltop Lane at Buck Lake to remove a tanker truck from the lake after it travelled off the roadway on the morning of Wednesday, Oct. 26, 2022.
The roadway will be completely closed from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and South Frontenac Township noted that the boat launch at Buck Lake will be closed during these hours on Saturday as well. The closure will be from Hilltop Lane to Tett Crescent, and OPP noted that Perth Road will be restricted to local traffic only from Rutledge Road northbound to Hilltop Lane, where the full closure begins.
In a media release, the Township is advising motorists to avoid the area and take Highway 38 or 15 instead of Perth Road for travel on Saturday. Detours will be in place at Rutledge Road and Perth Road at Tett Crescent.
The Township asks that drivers obey all signs and traffic controls in work zones to ensure the safety of local workers. The OPP shared that electronic sign boards are currently in place, and messaging has been published through the South Frontenac Township social media accounts.
For up-to-date information regarding this planned closure the OPP asks drivers to refer to social media accounts for both South Frontenac Township as well as East Region OPP.
