As part of the graduation ceremonies at the Royal Military College of Canada (RMC), two Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) CF-18 Hornets from 3 Wing Bagotville, Québec will conduct a flyby on Friday, May 19, 2023.

The flyby will take place at approximately 10 a.m., according to a release from the RCAF. The aircraft will fly over the RMC Commissioning Parade at an altitude no lower than 500 feet above the highest obstacle on their route. Flypasts conducted by Royal Canadian Air Force aircraft are carefully planned and closely controlled for public safety, and are dependent upon weather and flying conditions, the RCAF noted.

The CF-18 Hornet is the Royal Canadian Air Force’s frontline multi-role fighter, the air force stated, and is employed in many different roles, including air defence, air superiority and tactical support.

The Royal Military College of Canada is a military university that provides the Canadian Armed Forces with exemplary officers to serve Canada, delivering undergraduate programs in the Social Sciences, the Humanities, Science and Engineering in both official languages. Graduation ceremonies are scheduled to take place on May 18 and 19, 2023.

Some may think that is really low to the ground, but I’ve seen combat footage of Ukrainian combat pilots with their jets. 500ft clearance is quite generous, trust me.
