Update: Rash of north-end vehicle break-ins

A large number of residents in Kingston’s north end awoke to an unwelcome surprise after dozens of vehicles were broken into in the early morning hours.

The vehicle break-ins occurred sometime between midnight and 4 a.m. on Wednesday, Jun. 6, 2018, according to some of those affected. Vehicles parked on the street and in driveways had windows smashed in and items taken from within. The break-ins occurred on Sutherland Drive, Guthrie Drive, Dauphin Avenue, and Virginia Street, according to witnesses. Money, clothing, sunglasses and electronics are among the items being reported stolen from the vehicles.

Cameron Mack, media relations officer for Kingston Police, confirmed that two suspects have been arrested in relation to the onslaught of vehicle break-ins. The investigation is on going, he said.
