Rainfall warning for Kingston and area

Environment Canada has issued a Rainfall Warning for Kingston, Odessa, Frontenac Islands, Napanee, Consecon, Picton, and Sandbanks Park.
The national weather service is forecasting a significant rainfall with total amounts of 20 to 30 mm possible over several days.
Periods of rain are expected to begin Tuesday afternoon and persist through Tuesday night. There is also a risk of light freezing rain on Tuesday morning.
“Rainfall, combined with melting snow, is expected. The frozen ground has a reduced ability to absorb this rainfall,” Environment Canada said in the advisory.
“Localized flooding in low-lying areas is possible. Watch for possible washouts near rivers, creeks and culverts. Keep children and pets away from creeks and river banks,” warned Environment Canada.
