Raid uncovers cash, drugs and stolen money

The execution of a search warrant at an apartment in central Kingston resulted in the seizure of various stolen items, thousands in cash, a large amount of drugs, according to Kingston Police.

On Thursday, Feb. 7, 2019, Kingston Police Street Crimes Unit obtained a search warrant for an apartment on Leroy Grant Drive in relation to drug trafficking.

The Kingston Police Emergency Response Unit entered the apartment at approximately 1:45 p.m. that day. Upon entry of the officers, the accused man threw a bag of drugs out his window, which was seized by officers watching the window outside. The bag contained over 41 grams of suspected crystal methamphetamine and oxycocet pills.

The accused man was arrested and, during a search of the residence, officers found and seized over $8,000 in cash, a scale, and dime bags. A number of stolen items were also seized including laptops, camera equipment, and various power tools.

The 50-year-old Kingston man was charged with two counts of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking, and possession of property obtained by crime.
