The Queen’s Women’s Curling team know how to start a week off right, as they brought home the OUA Banner on Monday, Feb. 18, 2019. But that’s not all the Gaels have been up to! Here’s a run down of Queen’s Athletics happenings.
CURLING – Women’s Curling claims first OUA banner since 1994
WATERLOO, Ont. (February 18, 2019) – The Queen’s Gaels were crowned the 2019 OUA Women’s Curling Champions on Monday afternoon as the five-day championships came to a close at the KW Granite Club.
MEN’S HOCKEY – Double overtime winner propels Gaels to series sweep of Concordia
MONTREAL, Que. (February 15, 2019) – The No.10 Queen’s Gaels defeated the Concordia Stingers 5-4 in game two of the OUA Playoffs thanks to a double overtime winner from Liam Dunda.
WOMEN’S BASKETBALL – Gaels finish regular season on high note against No.4 Rams
TORONTO, Ont. (February 16th, 2019) – The Queen’s Women’s Basketball Team (15-8) defeated the No.4 Ryerson Rams (17-6) by a score of 74 to 70 on Saturday Night at Coca-Cola Court in Toronto.
MEN’S BASKETBALL – Gaels defeat Toronto, fall to No.3 Rams setting up date with Laurentian for opening playoff round
TORONTO, Ont. (February 16th, 2019) – The Queen’s Men’s Basketball Team (12-11) fell to the No.3 Ryerson Rams (21-2) by a score of 81 to 77 on Saturday Night at Coca-Cola Court.
WOMEN’S HOCKEY – Gaels clinch fourth seed with 2-1 win over Brock, will meet Ryerson to open OUA playoffs
ST. CATHARINES, Ont. (February 16, 2019) – The Queen’s Gaels (14-9-1-0) picked up a 2-1 win over the Brock Badgers (8-8-6-2) to lock up the fourth seed in the OUA.
WOMEN’S VOLLEYBALL – Gaels take care of business with sweep of Trent
KINGSTON, Ont. (February 17, 2019) – The Queen’s Gaels (11-6) took down the visiting Trent Excalibur (1-16) in a straight-set victory on Sunday afternoon. The scores of each set were 25-21, 25-15, 25-9.
MEN’S VOLLEYBALL – Gaels secure top spot in OUA East with win over Trent
KINGSTON, Ont. (February 17, 2019) – The No.8 Queen’s Gaels (14-3) picked up a three-set victory over the Trent Excalibur (0-16) on Sunday afternoon. The scores of each set were 25-15, 25-14, 25-13.
