Public Invited To Williamsville Main Street Study Charette

The public and affected businesses, organizations and residents, are invited to attend an upcoming Charette on the Williamsville Main Street Study. It is set for 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday, May 4 at St. Luke’s Anglican Church, 236 Nelson St.

The consulting team of Brook McIlroy Inc. will be leading participants in a design charrette to discuss the streetscape, open space and built-form opportunities for the study area. Those interested in participating should contact the City’s Planning and Development Department at 613-546-4291, ext. 3180.

Williamsville’s Main Street refers to the 1.7 km stretch of Princess Street between Division Street and Bath Road/Concession Street – the area is now the subject of an urban design study aimed at revitalizing this section of the city’s downtown.

The Charette is a planned follow-up to the public open house held in April and is designed to allow for a more in-depth and interactive discussion about this stretch of Princess Street with interested members of the public. An additional public open house on the Study is being planned and will focus on receiving feedback on a set of draft guidelines that will be developed based on public input from the open house, Charette and recent online Your Opinion comment opportunity.

The Study is on track to be completed for approval by City Council by the end of October.
