Province supports area infrastructure projects with $6.9 million

MPP Daryl Kramp made an announcement on Monday, Jan, 25, 2021, saying Hastings – Lennox and Addington (H-L&A) municipalities will receive more than $6.9 million across 21 municipalities to build local community infrastructure. One-third of Belleville is in H-L&A; south of Hwy 401 is in Bay of Quinte riding of Hon. Todd Smith.
This funding announcement comes three months after the last investment of over $2.5 million to H-L&A municipalities.
“This funding will help build and repair roads, bridges, water and wastewater infrastructure in our community,” said MPP Kramp. “It will both create jobs and ensure we are ready for the resumption of a busy local economy.”
Funding breakdown for municipalities:

The funding above is a part of Ontario’s approximately $200 million commitment to 424 communities to help them address their core infrastructure projects and asset management planning needs in 2021 and is based on population with a minimum amount per municipality of $50,000, according to a release from the office of MPP Daryl Kramp dated Monday, Jan. 25, 2021.
“By investing in infrastructure projects across the province, we are strengthening and building communities,” said Laurie Scott, Minister of Infrastructure. “This is part of our ongoing commitment to support small, rural and northern municipalities across Ontario, providing stable funding needed to build long-term economic resilience.”
