Pre-teen airlifted to CHEO with life-threatening injuries following early morning collision

An single vehicle collision on Princess Street sent five young people to hospital, one of which was airlifted to the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario (CHEO), according to Kingston Police.

At approximately 3 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 21, 2018, a vehicle with seven young people in it collided with a light pole near Portsmouth Avenue. Five of the seven youths were taken to hospital by Frontenac Paramedics. The passenger that was airlifted to CHEO was a preteen and was sitting in the passenger’s seat at the time of the collision.

The four other youths transported to hospital have since been released.

The collision is currently being investigated and anyone with information or video is asked to please contact Kingston Police.
