A number of employees at the Loblaws in the Kingston Centre are currently self-isolating after a staff member at the location tested positive for COVID-19.

According to Loblaw Public Relations, the company has been working with KFL&A Public Health and has taken “a number of steps to minimize risk, including increased sanitization protocols and enforcing social distancing practices in the store.” The staff member tested positive for COVID-19 on Sunday, Apr. 25 and last worked at the 1100 Princess Street location on Friday, Apr. 23, 2021.

The single case does not constitute an outbreak, and Public Health has not advised the community of any risk associated with the store. Should another staff member test positive for COVID-19, an outbreak would be declared.

“The store also arranged for additional cleaning,” Loblaw Public Relations said in an email to Kingstonist on Wednesday, Apr. 28, 2021.

“Team members who worked closely with this individual are at home in self-isolation, monitoring for any symptoms.”
