POLL – Provincial election is underway, do you know who you’ll vote for?

Just in case you haven’t noticed the array of signs throughout the city, the plethora of literature showing up in your mailbox, or the smiling candidates knocking at your door: the Ontario election is fast approaching.

The 42nd Ontario election will take place on Thursday, Jun. 7, and here in our riding, five candidates are vying to represent Kingston and the Islands as our Member of Provincial Parliament. Incumbent MPP Sophie Kiwala is once again running for the Liberal Party; Robert Kiley has returned as our Green Party candidate; Ian Arthur is running as our New Democratic candidate; former Kingston mayor Gary Bennett is running for the Progressive Conservative Party; and Andre Imbeault has emerged as our Trillium Party candidate.

Across the province, the election is making headlines for many reasons, with early polls indicating a tight race that should be interesting to take in. Here in Kingston, the competition seems equally as intense, with all candidates running solid, active campaigns. With only a few days left until election day, we here at Kingstonist want to know:
