Hastings-Lennox & Addington Member of Provincial Parliament (MPP) Daryl Kramp says he will not be seeking re-election on June 2, 2022. Kramp announced his decision in a letter on Friday, Feb. 18, 2022.

“Over the past 20 years I have had the privilege and honour to represent your interests and views at Municipal, Provincial and Federal levels of government,” Kramp said. “Today, it is with mixed emotions I announce I will not be a Candidate in the Provincial Election in June.”

Kramp said his decision “was not made lightly or in haste”, and cited both health and family reasons for the decision.

“I believe it is time to start a new chapter in my life,” Kramp continued. Kramp, who has served as Government Caucus Chair since July 2018, thanked colleagues, citizens, and family in his letter. “Special thanks to all the individuals and communities who have provided input and feedback that has enabled us to deliver unprecedented results for our riding and Province since 2018. In closing, thank you to my team – your tireless efforts to assist constituents with a multitude of issues was second to none. To my FAMILY – THANK YOU – you have always inspired me, and to each and every citizen and community I have served – THANK YOU for the honour and privilege to do so.”

Kramp joined two other Ontario PC Party MPPs, Jane McKenna and Bill Walker who, on the same day, made the public announcement that they would also not be running in the upcoming election.
