Police Week is dedicated to increasing community awareness and recognition of policing services and strengthening partnerships between police and the community.

According to a release from the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), the theme of this year’s Police Week is Your Police Services: Helping Build Safer Communities and runs from May 15 to 21, 2022.

Throughout the week members of the Frontenac OPP along with members of the Auxiliary OPP will be at different locations throughout the township providing information on home protection (lock it or lose it), OPP said. On Thursday, May 19, 2022, from 3 to 4 p.m. OPP Marine operators will be at the Loughborough Lake boat ramp on Perth Road, for members of the public to view one of the OPP boats and answer any of your boating questions.

“Police Week is a fantastic way for police to connect with their communities. I hope to increase the education and awareness around the services and initiatives provided by the OPP,” said Frontenac Detachment Commander Staff Sergeant Marty McConnell.
