Police seize handguns, large quantity of drugs from north end residence

Two people have been arrested and are facing a litany of charges after Kingston Police executed a search warrant in late September.
The Kingston Police Drug Enforcement Unit executed the search warrant at a north end residence on Friday, Sept. 27, 2019 at approximately 11 a.m. Once police entered the residence, the male and female accused parties were located and placed under arrest.
In the ensuing search of the residence, police located and seized two handguns and various firearm magazines and ammunition. Additionally, a large quantity of drugs was also located, which included crystal methamphetamine, cocaine, and hydromorphone and oxycodone pills. According to Kingston Police, the estimated street value of the seized narcotics was approximately $70,000.
On top of that, officers found and seized other drug paraphernalia, including packaging material and scales, as well as over $2,000 in Canadian currency.
As a result, a 36-year-old Kingston man was charged with:
- Four counts of possession of drugs for the purpose of trafficking a Schedule 1 substance
- Three counts of possession of a weapon dangerous to public peace
- Two counts of possession of prohibited firearms without holding a licence and registration certificate
- Three counts of storing a firearm carelessly
- Two counts of possession of a weapon for committing an offence
- Possession of a loaded, regulated firearm
- Six counts of possession of a firearm while prohibited
- Three counts of possession of ammunition while prohibited
- Three counts of breach of probation
Additionally, a 30-year-old Kingston woman was charged with:
- Four counts of possession of drugs for the purpose of trafficking a Schedule 1 substance
- Three counts of possession of a weapon dangerous to public peace
- Two counts of possession of prohibited firearms without holding a licence and registration certificate
- Three counts of storing a firearm carelessly
- Two counts of possession of a weapon for committing an offence
- Possession of a loaded, regulated firearm
- Four counts of possession of a firearm while prohibited
- Two counts of possession of ammunition while prohibited
- Four counts of breach of probation
