Police seize cash, drugs, weapon after warrants executed in Greater Napanee

Large quantities of drugs have been seized after execution of warrants at two residences in Greater Napanee.
On Friday Dec. 11, 2020 officers the Ontario Provincial Police East Region Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) the OPP Emergency Response Team (ERT), Lennox and Addington County OPP, Belleville Police Service and Project Renewal, executed search warrants at a residence on Dundas Street in Greater Napanee and a residence on Station Street in Belleville, according to a report from OPP dated Monday Dec. 14, 2020.
As a result, police have seized a large quantity of Purple Fentanyl, Blue Fentanyl, Cocaine, Methamphetamine, diazepam pills, nearly $8000 in Canadian currency, a prohibited knife and items typically associated with drug trafficking. Four people were arrested at the two locations, according to the report.

As a result of the investigation investigators have charged:
James Derushie, age 45, and Lisa Douglas, age 40, both of Belleville with:
- Possession of Proceeds of property obtained by crime,
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking,
- Possession of a Schedule I Substance
Matthew Johnston, age 34, of Greater Napanee with:
- Possession of Proceeds of property obtained by crime,
- Fail to comply with undertaking,
- Possession of a prohibited device,
- Two counts of Possession of drugs for the Purpose of Trafficking
Brooke Sawyer, age 24, of Greater Napanee with:
- Possession of Proceeds of property obtained by crime,
- Possession of a prohibited device,
- Two counts of Possession of drugs for the Purpose of Trafficking
All accused were released on an undertaking and are scheduled to appear in February 2021 at the Ontario Court of Justice in Napanee.
