Police seek witnesses to downtown weekend stabbing

Kingston Police are asking for public assistance after a serious assault which took place on Princess Street in downtown Kingston in the early morning hours of Sunday, Jun. 16, 2024.

A flurry of activity flooded Princess Street just after the bars closed for Saturday night, as a violent altercation occurred in the first hours of Sunday. According to a release from police, at approximately 2:30 a.m. on that date, a male was the victim of a stabbing “in Kingston’s downtown core.”

“The victim was subsequently rushed to Kingston General Hospital by Frontenac Paramedics where he received medical care for his injury, and he is currently in stable condition,” police detailed.

Kingstonist inquiried with Kingston Police about this incident on Monday, Jun. 17, 2024, but not details were disclosed. Police issued a media release the following day.

Kingston Police stated that investigators are aware that there were many witnesses to this incident on the date in question, and anyone with information about it that has not already spoken with the police is asked to do so.
