Police seek to identify downtown Kingston robbery suspect

Kingston Police have released the above photos and are asking for public assistance to identify the male suspect, wanted in connection with the attempted robbery of a downtown Kingston convenience store.
According to police, the incident occurred at approximately 8:05 p.m. on Thursday, May 20, 2021. The male suspect entered a convenience store on Bay Street and selected several items of merchandise. He then approached the cash register, where he told the store employee that he would not pay for the items. The suspect then implied that he had a weapon in his jacket, Kingston Police said in a press release on Thursday, Jun. 3, 2021.
At that time, the store employee attempted to stop the suspect, who fled from the store without the merchandise he’d selected. He was last seen riding a black bicycle eastbound on Bay Street. No one was injured in the incident, and no merchandise was actually stolen.
Police were contacted and searched for the suspect with negative results.
The suspect is described as a Caucasian male with a fair complexion, medium build, and short light brown hair. He was wearing a face covering as a mask at the time of the incident, as well as a red baseball cap, dark coloured pants, and a black and yellow Kingston Ice Wolves windbreaker with white pinstripes down each sleeve. He was also wearing one black glove that had a yellow stripe across it on his left hand, and a pink or red bracelet on his right wrist.
