Kingston Police are asking for assistance from the public in identifying a male who has been involved in prowling incidents in the city’s west end.

According to Kingston Police, the prowler has possibly been involved in two different incidents. The first incident occurred in the early morning hours of Wednesday, May 13, 2020 when, at approximately 1:30 a.m., a homeowner was inside their residence in the 900 block of Pembridge Crescent when their dog started to growl. The property owner turned their attention to the patio door off of their bedroom, where they observed a small, red light – the size of a laser pointer light without the dot – directed into the room from outside. The homeowner turned on their bedroom light, at which point a person could be heard running off of their back deck.

That homeowner later spoke to one of their neighbours, who also reported hearing suspicious activity at their patio door about two weeks prior.

Police were contacted and their investigation found that on Saturday, May 23, 2020, another homeowner in the area was letting their dog outside at approximately 5 a.m. At that time, the homeowner observed a naked male standing near the front steps of a neighbour’s home.

The suspect was described as a Caucasian male, approximately 50 to 60 years of age, with brown wispy hair on the sides and possibly balding on the top. He was approximately 160 to 170 lbs and stood about 5’6” to 5’7” in height.

Police are looking for assistance in identifying this male. Anyone with information about this male or any similar incident is asked to contact Detective Damczyk at 613-549-4660 ext. 6162, or via email at [email protected].
