Police seek information, suspects in thefts of ‘Pay and Display’ parking meters

Kingston Police are looking for public assistance during the investigation of three thefts of City of Kingston ‘Pay and Display’ parking meters, which occurred over the course of three months.

Three of the large, electronic parking meters were stolen in downtown Kingston: One was stolen on Monday, Oct. 22, 2018 at 23 Ontario St.; another was stolen on Thursday, Nov. 29 at Emily Street and King St. E.; and the last was stolen on Monday, Dec. 3 at 1 Bay Street.

“The thefts of these items items would likely require at least two persons with tools, and a vehicle to transport it,” Kingston Police said in a press release on Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2018.

Kingston Police are asking citizens to report any suspicious activity on or around ‘Pay and Display’ parking meters. Anyone with information is asked to contact Kingston Police at 613-549-4660. Information can also be provided anonymously by calling Kingston Police (613-549-4660) and asking to be anonymous, or by calling Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).
