Police seek assistance to identify suspicious individual in downtown Kingston

Kingston Police have released the above images and are asking for public assistance to identify the individual pictured, who was acting suspiciously in a downtown neighbourhood earlier this month.

According to a release from Kingston Police, on Sunday, Jan. 8, 2023, at approximately 11:35 a.m., the complainant was walking home to their residence located in downtown Kingston, and noticed a suspicious man who appeared to be following them on foot for some distance. Upon arriving at their residence, the complainant noticed this man continuing to linger outside.

“The man was observed pacing back and forth in front of the residence, sitting on the complainant’s front porch, and taking pictures of the home,” police said. “The man then crouched behind a bush for an extended period of time while still watching the complainant’s residence.”

Police described the male as Caucasian, 40 to 50 years of age, approximately 5’7” to 5’11”, with a thin to medium build. At the time, he was wearing a bulky black or navy blue jacket, black work boots and dark-coloured pants.

  • They look more like winter boots to me as I can’t see the symbols identifying them as work boots.

    • I don’t see them either, and do look the part. That being said, they aren’t always noticable, particularly if it’s attached to the outward part of the tongue, where it can be obscured.
