Kingston Police have released images and are asking the public to help identify a suspect who was captured on video removing tools and other items from a business on Railway Street.
At approximately 3:20 a.m. on Sunday, Apr. 3, 2022, the male suspect attended a commercial business located on Railway Street in the City of Kingston. According to a release from Kingston Police, upon arrival, the suspect parked his white van at the side of the business and walked to the rear of the building where he was captured on security video checking various bins and entrances to the building.
Police said that the suspect then drove his van to the rear of the building and was observed breaking into a storage unit by using a cut-off saw to gain access. The suspect then proceeded to remove tools and other items from the unit and place them in the van, according to the release. He also cut the locks off of other storage containers prior to leaving the scene in his van, police said.
The suspect appears to be Caucasian with a slim to medium build. He was wearing a dark-coloured construction-style jacket with yellow or lime green double reflective stripes on the front and similar double reflective stripes in the shape of an “X” on the back. There is also a double reflective stripe at the lower portion of each sleeve of the jacket. The jacket also appears to have a hood.
Police said that the suspect vehicle appears to possibly be a white U-Haul rental van with company logos on the side and rear.
