Police responding to threats to three Kingston high schools

Both Regiopolis Notre Dame, Bayridge Secondary School and Holy Cross Secondary are now on hold and secure following lock downs at both schools earlier today.
Kingston Police said they responded to Regiopolis and Bayridge Secondary schools due to threats made aimed at each of the schools. Police said they have not determined at this time whether or not the threats are related. The threats towards Regi were made over the phone, according to Kingston Police. It is unclear why Holy Cross was placed on lock down initially. Police remain on the scene at all three schools.
As a precautionary measure, a number of other local schools have been placed on hold and secure, keeping all doors locked and all students and staff inside. Bayridge Public, École secondaire catholique Marie-Rivier, Katarokwi Learning Centre, KCVI, Lancaster Drive Public School and Mother Teresa Catholic School are all currently on hold and secure at this time. Frontenac Secondary was on a hold and secure, but that has now been lifted.
The Limestone District School Board has relayed that all students and staff are safe.
