Police: No immediate threat to students, staff during lockdown at Regiopolis

There continues to be a large police presence at Regiopolis Notre Dame this morning as the school remains on lockdown.
Kingston Police, Kingston Fire and Rescue, and OPP are all on scene on what was first called into police as a weapons offence. Police now say the incident began due to threats over the phone.
The following is a statement from Kingston Police:
As many are aware Regi Secondary School is currently in lock down. There are numerous police officers there who responded to a threat made over the phone.
There is no known immediate threat to students and staff and officers are completing their final secondary search of the building.
The school is to remain in a secure state while officers conduct further investigation into the source of the threat.
