Update – Police: Missing Port Hope woman located deceased

Update (Friday, May 20, 2022):
According to Port Hope Police, Madison ‘Madi’ Chard, 29, previously reported missing, has been located deceased.
Chard had been missing for nearly a month, having last been seen in Port Hope, where she resided, on Tuesday, Apr. 19, 2022. As the investigation continued, police shared that the missing woman may be a victim of human trafficking, and pushed out information on Chard’s disappearance across eastern Ontario.
Sadly, on Thursday, May 19, 2022, members of the OCEAP, Port Hope Police’s volunteer search and rescue team, located Chard’s body at approximately 3:14 p.m.
“We cannot confirm foul play at this time,” Port Hope Police said in an email on Friday, May 20, 2022, noting that an autopsy is currently under way. “The OPP have been called to assist Port Hope Police with the ongoing investigation.”
As the investigation continues, anyone who may have information on Chard’s disappearance, her whereabouts while she was missing, or the circumstances leading to her death is asked to contact Port Hope Police at 905-885 8123, or via email at. Madison ‘Madi’ Chard, 29, has been missing for over three weeks. Despite efforts by police in her hometown to locate her, Chard has not been seen since Tuesday, Apr. 19, 2022.



Now, Port Hope Police are requesting media assistance to disseminate information about Chard across eastern Ontario, as they “feel she could be a victim of human trafficking.”
Chard left her Port Hope residence on that Tuesday in April and has not been seen since.
Madison Nicollett Chard, who goes by ‘Madi,’ is described as a Caucasian female standing 5’7” tall and weighing approximately 120 lbs. She has blond hair, which may be short at this time (the photos provided to and by Port Hope Police show Chard with hair extensions in). Chard has a number of tattoos, including on her left and right hands, neck, abdomen/chest, both hips, left thigh, and right ankle. She has a distinctive ‘Tree of Life’ tattoo on her left hand, as pictured above.
