Police looking to speak with witness of mischief involving police vehicle

Kingston Police are hoping to speak with a witness who tipped them off that teenager had been jumping on the hood of an unattended police cruiser earlier this week.
On Wednesday, May 29, 2019, police were approached by a witness at approximately 1:15 p.m. at the south side entrance of the Cataraqui Centre. The witness informed police that the accused male had been jumping on the hood of a police cruiser while it was unattended outside of the mall.
Police approached the accused male teen, who was still on the scene, but he provided a false identity. Further investigation revealed the correct identity of the accused teen, according to Kingston Police.
The accused teen was arrested for obstructing police and mischief under $5,000. The 14-year-old local male was later released on an appearance notice.
Police are requesting that the witness who first approached the officer at the Cataraqui Centre please contact police to provide further particulars of the offence.
