Police looking to identify suspect in violent assault at Sun Convenience

Kingston Police have released the above photos and are asking for public assistance to identify the female suspect involved in the assault of one of the owners of Sun Convenience Store on Montreal Street.

As Kingstonist originally reported on Wednesday, Jul. 31, 2019, the violent assault involved the owner being hit in the face with a can of Red Bull at Sun Convenience and Grocery on Montreal Street on Tuesday, July 30, 2019.

According to Kingston Police, the female suspect entered the Montreal Street convenience store at approximately 5:30 p.m. and was observed by the victim shoving two cans of energy drinks into the waistline of her clothing.

After confronting the suspect about the energy drinks concealed in her pants, the suspect threw one of the cans at the victim, causing an injury to her face.

Frontenac Paramedics attended and transported the victim to Kingston General Hospital for treatment. The suspect fled the scene and was not able to be located by police. Police reviewed video surveillance and captured the above still images of the suspect.

The suspect is described as a younger female with a dark complexion and long brown hair. She was wearing a white t-shirt with yellow sleeves and blue shorts. A video of the assault captured on a surveillance camera can be viewed on Kingstonist’s Facebook page here.
