Kingston Police are looking to the public for assistance in identifying and locating a male suspect involved in a robbery in Kingston’s west end.
The male suspect didn’t act alone, and his partner, the accused, has been arrested and charged, according to a press release from Kingston Police.
The robbery began at approximately 11:30 a.m. on Sunday, Oct. 28, 2018 when the unidentified suspect and the accused arrived in the front lobby of an apartment building in the city’s west end. A friend of the victim, the accused man buzzed the victim and was let into the building. Both the accused man and the unidentified suspect then entered the building and proceeded to the elevator, where they disguised themselves with masks and hoods.
The pair entered the victim’s apartment and immediately demanded money while threatening to stab him. The unidentified male produced a knife, and the victim also grabbed a knife, police said. The two male suspects then proceeded to attack and rob the victim of a substantial amount of money. As the pair left, the victim smashed a bong over the head of the unidentified suspect.
Police were called and officers later located and arrested the accused at his residence. That 27-year-old man is charged with robbery, having his face masked to commit an offence, assault with a weapon, uttering threats to cause death, and theft.
Kingston Police continue to investigate in order to identify the second suspect. He is described as a Caucasian male approximately 25 to 30 years of age. The suspect was last seen wearing a royal blue hoodie, track pants, a dark jacket, a ball cap, and sunglasses.
