Police: Kingston man arrested with ‘arsenal of weapons’

A local man has been arrested and is facing eight charges after he was found to be in possession of four weapons at a downtown apartment.

Police were contacted on Saturday, Feb. 2, 2019 at approximately 8:30 p.m. with the report of a male in a Joseph Street apartment, armed with a number of weapons. Several officers responded and, as they located the accused man, saw him attaching a large knife with a sheath to his belt.

The man was arrested and, during a search, police found he was in possession of suspected crystal methamphetamine, a second smaller knife, a collapsible baton, and a black pellet hand gun concealed in his clothing.

The 37-year-old local man was charged with possessions of a weapon dangerous to public peace, possession of a controlled substance, five counts of breach of undertaking, and breach of recognizance.
