Police arrest two individuals for drug trafficking in Kingston

Two individuals were arrested in Kingston for trafficking purple fentanyl.

On Thursday, Feb. 25, 2021 members of the Kingston Police Drug Enforcement Unit arrested a 58-year-old Kingston man and a 34-year-old woman from Belleville for possession for the purpose of trafficking fentanyl, according to a release from Kingston Police, dated Monday, Mar. 1, 2021.

Drug Enforcement Unit officers executed two Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA) search warrants as a result of the arrests and Kingston Police say they located a quantity of purple fentanyl, Canadian currency and evidence of drug trafficking.

The search warrants were executed during the day at a west end Kingston hotel and a residence located in Kingston’s north end, according to the release. Both individuals were charged jointly with possession for the purpose of trafficking a Schedule 1 substance. The total value of the seized drugs and currency was close to $40,000.
