Earlier this morning, Friday, Oct 2, 2020, five pigs were recovered by members of the Lennox and Addington (L&A) County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) after they had fallen out of a transport truck on the Eastbound onramp of the 401, coming from County Road 4. The incident happened around 7:30 a.m., according to the OPP.

CoCo Paving, who were doing work in the area, assisted in the recovery of the pigs, along with Second Chance Ranch, who provided a horse trailer and some wrangling expertise. OPP say the animals were not seriously injured.

The pigs were located along Highway 401, County Road 2 and County Road 4 near Camden East.

OPP say the driver of the transport truck was charged with insecure load.
